Working in Cincinnati

What junk removal in Cincinnati actually involves

Cincinnati is a city of stairs. Much of the east side and the basin is century-old housing — narrow stairwells, walk-up thirds, basements you reach through a bulkhead door, and street parking that puts the truck half a block away. That changes what a removal job actually costs in labor, and it is the reason a hauler who only takes curbside piles will quote you cheap and then renegotiate on the doorstep. We quote Cincinnati jobs knowing the carry is the work.

A lot of Cincinnati stock is pre-war single-family and two-to-four-unit conversions, which means basements and attics that have absorbed decades of storage. Add a dense rental market around the universities and hospitals, and the two jobs we are set up for here are the full basement or attic clear-out, and the turnover cleanout between tenants.

What actually changes the job here

  • Parking is part of the quote

On a lot of Cincinnati streets there is nowhere to put a truck and trailer outside the door. If the nearest legal spot is half a block away, every item gets carried that half block, and that is labor we have to account for. Tell us what the parking looks like when you send photos — a shot down the street is as useful to us as a shot of the pile.

  • Stairwells built before anyone owned a sectional

Century housing has narrow turns, low ceilings on the half-landings and doors that were sized for furniture that came apart. We bring tools and we break things down rather than forcing them past a banister. It is slower than dragging, and it is why we have not put a hole in anyone’s plaster.

  • Basements, bulkheads and the outside stair

A Cincinnati basement is often reached by an outside bulkhead rather than an internal stair, which changes the route entirely — and after rain it changes the footing too. Mention which way in when you book, because it is the difference between a two-hour job and a four-hour one.

  • Rental turnover on a deadline

Around the universities and hospitals, units flip fast and the window between one tenant leaving and the next arriving is short. We can usually work to a fixed turnover date if you tell us the date up front rather than the week before.

What it costs in Cincinnati

Cincinnati pricing, same as everywhere else we go

The load-size rates are the same in Cincinnati as they are in Hamilton — you pay for the space your items take in the truck. What tends to move a Cincinnati quote is not the volume but the access: a third-floor walk-up with street parking is more labor than the same pile in a driveway, and we would rather price that honestly up front than discover it on the doorstep. Cincinnati is a short enough run that a travel fee rarely comes into it.

  • Minimum

    From $125

A small, standard pickup — our minimum starting charge.

  • ⅛ load

    $150

A few bulky items or a small pile.

  • ¼ load

    $225

A single room’s worth of household items.

  • ¾ load

    $550

A large garage, shed or attic.

  • Full load

    $725

A full truck or trailer — most whole-house cleanouts start here.

Our $125 minimum is a starting charge for a small, standard pickup — not a single-item price. Some individual items, like pianos, large sectionals or extremely heavy pieces, are quoted separately because of their size, weight, labor or disposal requirements.

What changes the price, and what’s included

10% off for veterans and seniors, and curbside pickups may qualify for less.

Before and after of a shed removal in Cincinnati. Before: a small wooden shed with a shingled roof and open doors in a fenced backyard. After: bare ground where the shed stood.

A real job near you

A backyard shed, gone to bare ground

Not every Cincinnati job is a walk-up. This one was a rotting backyard shed behind a brick house — taken apart, loaded and hauled in the same visit, with the ground left clear for whatever the owners do next.

FAQ

Junk removal in Cincinnati — your questions

Do you charge extra to come to Cincinnati from Hamilton?

Jobs farther from our Hamilton shop can include a travel fee, but Cincinnati is a short run for us — about 35 minutes — and it is a market we work in regularly. Whatever the final figure is, you will hear it in your quote before we book, not after we arrive.

My place is a third-floor walk-up in Clifton. Is that a problem?

No. Stairs and long carries do factor into the price, because they add real labor — that is one of the things we ask about when you send photos. But we do the carrying. You do not need to bring anything down to the curb first.

Can you do a rental turnover on short notice?

Often, yes. We answer calls seven days a week, 7am to 10pm, schedule jobs Monday through Saturday, and usually get back to inquiries within about five minutes. You do not need to be at the unit either — an entry code or a key arrangement works fine. Send photos of the unit and we will tell you what we can do.

Do I have to sort anything before you come?

No, and this is the main thing that separates us from most haulers in this market. Plenty of companies require everything pre-sorted and piled before they will quote. We sort through it ourselves — just mark what stays. Extended sorting takes longer and can affect the price, and we will tell you that up front.

Cincinnati, let’s get it hauled.

Send a few photos and we’ll price it fast. If it’s easier, just call — a real person picks up.
